Bac Ninh urges site clearance for Gia Binh airport project

Bac Ninh - On the afternoon of April 8, a conference was held to report the progress of site clearance (GPMB) for the Gia Binh International Airport project.

Gia Binh International Airport Project (Gia Binh District, Bac Ninh Province) is implementing a component project, support, resettlement, technical infrastructure return, site clearance of 408.5 hectares, total investment of VND 5,476 billion.

Phase 1 (125 ha), the total approved investment is 887 billion VND, has now cleared and allocated land to the investor - Mobile Police Command 124.7 ha.

There are 2 households whose residential land has not been compensated for site clearance because there is no resettlement land project.

In phase 2 (283.5 hectares), through the review of the current status, about 595 households with residential land that had to be relocated; 373/595 households have been counted, reaching 63%; 1,529 common graves and 135 graves with special architecture/1,664 graves that had to be relocated have been counted.

The total value of compensation for phase 2 and construction of the returned works is expected to be 4,589 billion VND.

The People's Committee of Gia Binh district has held meetings with localities where cemeteries must be relocated, agreeing on the location of destination; regularly and continuously propagating the policy of implementing the airport project, creating high consensus among the people, in order to complete the site clearance work as soon as possible.

Gia Binh District proposed that the province issue a document agreeing to allow the Gia Binh District People's Committee to use the loan while waiting for the project to be approved for adjustment to advance compensation, support for moving graves, compensation for land area for building new cemeteries, and related work.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan emphasized the importance of phase 2 in the overall Gia Binh International Airport project.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan requested departments, branches and localities to focus on removing difficulties, in which priority is given to determining planning boundaries to complete the inventory work, creating a premise for the next steps.

The immediate work is to return the project site for phase 1, and immediately resettle 2 households.

The Provincial Party Secretary requested Gia Binh district to establish a site clearance project for phase 2, carefully study the plan to complete before June 30, ensuring effectiveness.

Regarding the resettlement project for phase 2, it is also necessary to calculate feasible options, create urban and residential areas in a synchronous manner; immediately deploy roads to the village, ensuring people travel safely and conveniently.

Previously, the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction) approved the adjustment of the Master Plan for the development of the national airport system for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.

Accordingly, Gia Binh International Airport has a scale of level 4E, located in Bac Ninh province with an expected land area of about 363.5 hectares.

By 2030, the designed capacity is expected to be about 1 million passengers/year and about 3 million passengers/year with a vision to 2050.

The estimated investment cost of Gia Binh International Airport according to the planning is about 17,682 billion VND for the period 2021-2030; about 12,083 billion VND for vision to 2050.
