On October 18, Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province inspected the work to overcome the consequences of flooding caused by storm No. 11 in Xuan Cam commune, Hop Thinh commune and Nenh ward.
In particular, the working group inspected Truc Tay Pumping Station at K59, left dike Cau, Nenh ward.
Currently, the Pumping Station has 8 units, with a pumping capacity of 7,800 m3/hour, and has just been upgraded.
However, the canal system leading to this pumping station has not been invested in synchronously, affecting the efficiency of water pumping in industrial parks and residential areas in Nenh ward.
Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province Vuong Quoc Tuan acknowledged and highly appreciated the proactiveness, timeliness and determination of local authorities and functional forces in making efforts, mobilizing means, human resources, and machinery, promptly helping people overcome the consequences of floods.
Regarding the task of drainage for industrial parks, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan requested relevant departments, branches and units to determine the boundaries of drainage canals within or outside the industrial park.
At the same time, agree on the option for Nam Song Thuong Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited to invest in an automatic garbage collection system to solve the problem of traffic jams leading to Truc Tay Pumping Station.
The leaders of Nenh ward coordinated with the investor of the industrial park's infrastructure to urgently clear the site to create land to construct the regulating lake, while ensuring the improvement of the landscape as well as the reservoir for the industrial park.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment coordinates with the Department of Construction and the Industrial Park Management Board to continue reviewing vacant areas in industrial parks to convert them into large reservoirs and tanks that both store water and regulate the air, and overcome flooding during prolonged heavy rains.
Previously, at a working session with the Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province on October 14, representatives of Luxshare - ICT Vietnam Co., Ltd. and FUYU Precision Technology Co., Ltd. said that the impact of storms No. 10 and 11 caused the amount of rain to cause internal water to drain slowly, affecting workers' travel and goods transportation activities. However, the companies still maintain normal production activities.
The enterprise requested the province to soon have solutions to upgrade the overall drainage system of the industrial park.
After the merger, Bac Ninh has 33 industrial parks with a total area of over 10,100 hectares, with an occupancy rate of about 56%.
Industrial parks have contributed to attracting investment in the province. In the first 9 months of the year, in terms of FDI attraction alone, Bac Ninh is currently leading the country.
