Production activities have a great impact on the environment
Dai Bai craft village (Gia Binh district) has been around for a long time, famous for its main occupations: copper casting, aluminum casting and handicraft production.
According to statistics from the authorities of Bac Ninh province, Dai Bai craft village has 2,326 households, including: 461 households producing handicrafts; 184 households casting aluminum and copper; 26 households specializing in scrap recycling.

Since 2002, Dai Bai craft village industrial cluster was built with an area of 6.2 hectares managed by Dai Bai Commune People's Committee, with 75 production households.
However, according to the review of the authorities, the craft village and industrial cluster of Dai Bai craft village do not have a centralized wastewater treatment area; there is no waste treatment area from the production of aluminum and copper recycling castings; there is no wastewater self-treatment system.
Both the craft village and the industrial cluster have 132 households building 170 chimneys with an average height of 7 - 22m to treat emissions.
In particular, according to records, in recent times, this craft village has developed a number of new occupations, notably the activities of coal smelting, recycling aluminum and copper scrap, and metal cleaning activities.

The operation process does not ensure environmental safety, the waste from this activity is large, not treated, and discharged directly into the environment, making it the main cause of pollution.
According to statistics, in the farm and aquaculture conversion area in Dai Bai commune alone, 20 households have illegally built metal recycling furnaces, the whole commune has 40 households illegally built recycling furnaces on agricultural land, causing environmental pollution, greatly affecting the community.
Handling completed before April 15
Recently, the work of handling environmental pollution in craft villages and industrial clusters in Bac Ninh has achieved many important results.
3 craft villages and industrial clusters of Phong Khe craft village (Bac Ninh city), Phu Lam (Tien Du district), Van Mon (Yen Phong district) have been seriously polluted for many years and have been basically resolved.
