On the morning of September 7, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Bac Ninh province coordinated with the People's Committee of Son Hai commune to organize the release of public fish to protect and develop aquatic resources on Cam Son lake, Son Hai commune, Bac Ninh province.
Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province Le Xuan Loi and leaders of departments, branches and localities directly released more than 9.95 tons of fish fry with high economic benefits in the Cam Son Lake area, including: Sesame fish (2.9 tons); drift fish (2.76 tons); carp (2.7 tons); pangasius (1.5 tons); and catfish (110kg). The total cost of fish fry is more than 830 million VND.
This is an annual activity to supplement and regenerate aquatic resources, improve the value and economic efficiency of natural resources, increase biodiversity, protect the sustainable ecological environment, and create livelihoods for people.
At the same time, it contributes to raising awareness of people around the area where aquatic resources are not exploited to destroy at Cam Son Lake.
To ensure that fish fry grow and develop well, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Bac Ninh province recommends that functional forces and local authorities step up propaganda and instruct people to protect fish fry and not catch or exploit them immediately after release.
Cam Son Lake is located at an altitude of about 300m above sea level, the largest irrigation project in the North, with the task of regulating and supplying irrigation water for agricultural production.
The project is responsible for regulating and supplying irrigation water for agricultural production; regulating water sources in the upstream area of the Thuong River; dividing floods, cutting floodwaters for downstream areas in districts of the old Bac Giang province.
