According to records of Lao Dong Newspaper reporters on the morning of September 18, at Sam Son beach, Sam Son ward, Thanh Hoa province, a large amount of firewood, wood and garbage drifted ashore after days of rain and floods.
Many people said that in recent days, prolonged heavy rain has caused firewood, wood, and garbage from upstream of the Ma River to flow downstream, then be washed away by waves into Sam Son beach in large quantities.

According to records, this situation appears at many beaches. Firewood and timber are lying scattered, in some places arranged in large strips, stretching along the coast about 5 km.
Representatives of the leadership of Sam Son Ward People's Committee said that on September 18, the locality will mobilize forces, coordinate with relevant units to urgently collect and clean up the amount of firewood, wood and garbage drifting on the beach.
Due to the large volume of firewood, wood and garbage, the collection and cleaning work is expected to last many days.
