In Gia Vien, Thanh Son, Nho Quan, Gia Tuong, Gia Phong, Gia Hung communes, Phu Van ward, Ly Thuong Kiet ward, Chau Son ward... thousands of households have been flooded.
Floods have also affected teaching and learning activities at some school sites in Ninh Binh province. At Gia Vien Primary School, branch 2 of the school was flooded, students had to switch to online classes. Hoang Dong Primary School 1, Duy Ha ward was flooded in the schoolyard, so students also had to take leave from school.
According to a quick report from the Office of the Ninh Binh Provincial Civil Defense Command, as of 4 pm on September 17, prolonged heavy rain along with rising water on many rivers caused 3,042 households outside the dike to be flooded. 94 households with 346 people have been relocated to safe places.
Heavy rain has also affected 11,465 hectares of rice, of which 200 hectares were flooded white, 319 hectares were flooded lightly, and 10,946 hectares were flooded from 2/3 to 3/4 of the trees. A house in Uy Te village, Gia Hung commune had its roof collapsed. A dike slope on the left bank of the Day River, from K100+810 ÷ K100+828, in Kim Bang ward, was eroded.
Faced with the rising floodwaters, localities have organized the evacuation of people in areas at risk of unsafety. Ninh Binh province has mobilized 417 officers and soldiers from the army, police, militia and shock forces to participate in supporting the relocation of people, property and handling incidents.

Along with that, 13 vehicles of all kinds, including cars, boats and boat engines, are mobilized to serve the response work. Currently, irrigation works management units are operating 739 fixed electric pumps, 194 head drainage culverts, 1 lake culvert and 27 spillways to drain water for agricultural production, urban areas and industrial parks.
The Ninh Binh Provincial Civil Defense Command requests localities to continue to closely monitor the developments of rain and floods, review evacuation plans for people in riverbank areas and flooded areas. At the same time, strengthen patrols and guards of dyke and dam systems and prepare personnel, materials, and vehicles according to the "4 on-the-spot" motto.
