About 50km from the center of Dien Bien Phu City, Nam Dinh village, Ngoi Giao commune, Muong Ang district, Dien Bien province currently has more than 1,200 ancient flowers. Realizing the great potential, Muong Ang district chose to be one of two places to develop community tourism.
This is also home to 100% of the Mong ethnic people, with diverse and unique culture. However, the village still faces many difficulties in infrastructure, people's lives are mainly dependent on agriculture and the conservation of traditional cultural values is limited.
With the determination to build the first community tourism version of the district, at the end of December 2024, Muong Ang has mobilized thousands of cadres, public employees, youth union members, military forces, police and people People actively join hands to build Nam Nam.
On Saturdays and Sundays every week, activities such as stone walls, flowering, and improving landscapes ... have contributed to creating a new face for the upland village to become a bright spot in the development journey. Travel in Dien Bien.
Mr. Mua A Lau - Head of the Nam village - said: “The village has 73 households with 440 people, the percentage of poor and near -poor households accounts for 100%. With the advantage of building a community tourism from more than 1,200 ancient flowers, we are trying to protect and plant more flowers. Thereby, creating accents, to attract tourists to visit. ”
Mr. Lau also said that Nam Nam is preparing to build a community house to display and sell local products. At the same time, the music team consists of 10 people ready to serve visitors if needed.
Mr. Vang A Dung - one of the pioneers who made homestay in the village - said that in 2024 was the first year the version attracted a large number of visitors to experience and admire the ancient flower forest.
“I have invested more than 150 million VND to renovate houses and buy equipment. Currently, the family homestay is receiving support from the district units to complete the final stages, preparing to welcome guests in the flower season in March ” - Mr. Dung said.
According to Mr. To Trong Thien - Chairman of Muong Ang District People's Committee, in order to develop sustainable community tourism, the district deploys restoration and conservation of traditional cultural heritage of the Mong people such as: voice, writing, turmeric Folk performance, housing architecture, and family festivals. At the same time, traditional crafts such as knitting, crafting and weaving are also restored to serve tourism.
In addition, the district also regularly organizes training in community tourism skills and promotes the image of the cramp on the mass media. Investing in infrastructure, improving landscapes.
Especially, at the end of January 2025, Muong Ang district has energized the first transformer station in the program "Brightening Dien Bien" in the village village, carrying the national grid to 73 households.
