On June 9, information from the People's Committee of Pac Nam district (Bac Kan) confirmed that a local resident had just been swept away and died by floodwaters.
The victim was identified as Ms. Ly Thi G. (born in 1954, residing in Khuoi O village, Nhan Mon commune).
Accordingly, at around 9:00 a.m. the same day, Ms. G. tried to cross the spillway when the stream water rose due to floods from the headwaters of the Nang River flowing in after a heavy rain in the early morning.

Immediately after receiving the report, Mr. Ma Van Tuan - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Pac Nam district was present at the scene to direct the search and rescue work.
After more than an hour, Ms. G.'s body was found, not far from the accident site. The victim's body was then handed over to his family for funeral arrangements.
Local authorities recommend that people should be vigilant and not travel through spillways and flooded streams during heavy rain or floods to avoid accidents.
