On the Government Information Portal, Mr. N.X.L reflected that he had paid social insurance since August 2018 and retired in August 2024. At the time of closing the book, his social insurance payment period was 06 years and 04 months (he had received maternity benefits for his wife).
In February 2025, Mr. Lam worked at another company and paid social insurance from April 2025 (the social insurance contribution level was equal to the last month's contribution at the old company). Mr. L checked VssID and found that the participation process only reported 6 months.
Mr. L asked if his previous social insurance participation process at his old company was abandoned? What are the procedures for combining the two social insurance payment stages?
Regarding this issue, Vietnam Social Security responds as follows:
Currently, on the VssID application, there are also cases where employees do not have the process to participate in social insurance contributions.
When encountering this problem, employees should report to the local social insurance agency or the employer (where they are working) in coordination with the social insurance agency to update complete information.
Vietnam Social Insurance affirms that the entire process of participating in social insurance and health insurance of employees has been digitized, synchronized, stored in the Industry's Database and guaranteed benefits when receiving social insurance benefits.
Vietnam Social Insurance is promoting solutions to update full data on the time of social insurance participation on the VssID application for employees as soon as possible.
Because Mr. L has not provided complete personal information: Social Insurance code, date of birth and citizen identification number, Vietnam Social Insurance has no basis to look up, verify and provide details of the social insurance payment process.
