Social insurance responds to change of initial medical examination location

Recently, Vietnam Social Security responded to readers about the case of changing the initial medical examination location.

Accordingly, a reader asked: "I work in Cau Giay district but initially registered for medical examination and treatment in Long Bien district. May I ask, can I transfer my initial medical examination and treatment location to Cau Giay district?"

Responding to this issue, Vietnam Social Security said that according to the provisions of Circular No. 40/2015/TT-BYT, health insurance participants have the right to register for initial health insurance examination and treatment at one of the commune-level or district-level medical examination and treatment facilities regardless of administrative boundaries, in accordance with the workplace, place of residence and the response capacity of the medical examination and treatment facility.

Thus, in case people want to register for initial health insurance examination and treatment near their workplace, they are requested to bring their health insurance card to the social insurance agency that issued the card in the first days of the quarter to be guided on the procedure for changing the initial medical examination and treatment place on the health insurance card and to be provided with a list of medical examination and treatment facilities that are qualified to receive initial medical examination and treatment registration in Cau Giay area for people to choose from.
