Previously, storm No. 13 caused serious damage on a large scale, damaging many houses and works and seriously affecting people's lives. Immediately after the storm, the province mobilized the entire political system to overcome the consequences, and at the same time declared an emergency situation in 65 communes and wards.
However, from November 16 to 20, heavy rain continued to appear in the province, with some places recording rainfall of over 900mm. Prolonged heavy rain caused widespread flooding, causing serious damage to people, property, traffic works, dykes and production in the eastern area and some communes and wards in the western part of the province.
The work of overcoming storm No. 13 has not been completed, the historic flood continues to destroy, making the situation even more serious. Many houses damaged by the storm continued to collapse, with roofs blown off, and walls collapsed; many schools, medical stations, traffic routes and power systems were severely damaged, severely affecting people's lives.
As of the afternoon of November 26, the whole province recorded 5 deaths and 11 injuries due to storms and floods; more than 100,000 houses were damaged or flooded; 560 boats were damaged; more than 540ha of aquaculture area and 254 cages were completely damaged. Thousands of hectares of rice and crops were damaged; many livestock and poultry were swept away... The total estimated damage is more than 11,600 billion VND.
Faced with the dangerous developments, the province has identified the top priority task of protecting people's lives; mobilizing maximum forces, means and resources for rescue, relief and support to overcome the consequences.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Military Command, Border Guard and Provincial Police to play a core role in mobilizing forces and means to urgently evacuate people from dangerous areas; be ready to deploy rescue when situations arise; coordinate to support people in handling the environment and preventing epidemics after storms and floods.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and organizations are responsible for mobilizing people to support each other, while supervising the allocation and use of support sources to ensure publicity and transparency.
Departments, branches and localities focus all resources, proactively coordinate closely to quickly overcome the damage, soon stabilize people's lives and production after natural disasters.
