According to assessments, the phenomenon of floods on rivers rising faster than ever before, more intense than in 2022.
On the same morning, speaking to reporters, Mr. Hoang Van Thoan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Mo town, Chi Lang district said: "Currently, the flood water is rising very quickly, faster than ever before. Forces are being mobilized to monitor and support people. The flood water is still very deep."
Also on the morning of September 8, a landslide occurred in Hoa Cu commune, Cao Loc district, causing severe damage to a family's house, fortunately there were no casualties. Traffic on many national highways through Lang Son was flooded, greatly affecting.
According to information from Loc Binh Irrigation Works Exploitation Enterprise, due to the impact of storms and rains, the water level of Ban Lai reservoir is currently being discharged.
The spillway gates will open from 9:30 a.m. on September 8; 3 spillway gates will be opened; discharge capacity is 724 m3/s. The irrigation unit has sent notices to relevant levels, sectors, Lang Son city and Loc Binh, Cao Loc, Van Lang, Van Quan, Trang Dinh districts to proactively respond.
In Cao Bang, in the past 24 hours, in districts across the province there has been moderate rain, heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain, the measured rainfall ranges from 59mm to 2181.5mm.
In the next 6 hours, it will continue to rain, causing the risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams in mountainous areas; landslides on steep slopes, and land subsidence in the districts of Bao Lac, Bao Lam, Ha Lang, Ha Quang, Hoa An, Nguyen Binh, Quang Hoa, Thach An, and Trung Khanh.
The warning level of natural disaster risk due to flash floods, landslides, land subsidence due to heavy rain or water flow is given as Level 1.
