Previously, on the morning of September 4, this wild monkey rushed into a house on Vi Ba street, Vung Tau ward (HCMC) and bit and injured one person, then ran away.
At about 4:30 pm on the same day, this wild monkey returned to the house that had bitten the injured person this morning to find food.
Seeing the wild monkey appear, people inside the house quickly ran out, closed the door tightly and informed the authorities. However, after that, the wild monkey escaped and moved to another nearby apartment.
After that, the functional unit of Vung Tau ward quickly contacted and asked 2 male veterinarians of the nearby tourist area for support, thereby successfully arresting the aggressive monkey. During this process, one male employee was bitten and injured by a wild monkey; another person was also scratched in many places.
This is a monkey that once bit me and injured me, I had to get vaccinated before. I recognized it because of its characteristic tail and feathers like patterns on its head," said Ms. T.T (a resident in the area).
Many people in the area were delighted to see the ferocious wild monkey being captured. This helped them reduce their fear of wild monkeys suddenly rushing into houses to attack people; or being attacked while exercising in the morning or evening.
The injured people in the case of besieging and catching wild monkeys aggressively biting people were also supported by local authorities for treatment and vaccination according to regulations.
Currently, the wild monkey is being kept at the Military Command of Vung Tau ward. Local authorities will coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Agriculture and Environment to hand it over to a competent unit for handling according to regulations.
