On January 21, Son La Provincial Border Guard Command said that it had chaired and coordinated with the Special Task Force for Drug and Crime Prevention and Control of the North and related units to successfully fight Special Case SL0126.
According to investigation documents, at about 2 pm on January 20, in Sub-zone 7, Chieng Son commune (Son La province), functional forces arrested 2 subjects illegally transporting a large quantity of drugs.
Exhibits seized at the scene included 30,000 synthetic drug pills, 10 "fun water" packages, 1 motorbike and 2 mobile phones.
The identities of the subjects were identified as Mua A Vang (born 1984) and Mua Chong Khua (born 1996), both residing in Kho Hong village, Chieng Son commune, Son La province.
Initially, the subjects confessed that they were hired by a Lao person to transport the drugs from across the border to Vietnam, bringing them downstream for consumption, and the wages would be paid after successful delivery.
