This morning, March 8, voters in Tho Chau special zone, An Giang province were present early in the polling areas to exercise their citizenship rights, to elect National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
According to the leader of the Special Zone People's Committee, Tho Chau has 5 polling stations with more than 2,000 voters.

On the morning of March 8, in harmony with the atmosphere of early elections in the Tho Chau special zone, officers and soldiers on Hon Tu island also exercised their citizenship.
The election team brought auxiliary ballot boxes to Hon Tu island for officers and soldiers on duty on the island to vote according to regulations. Due to stormy conditions and separation from polling areas, the force had to move small ships carrying ballot boxes to the place.

It is known that Hon Tu is a small island with an area of about 1km2, about 5km northeast of the large island of Tho Chu. This is a military island, without residents, only the forces of Regiment 152 (Military Region 9) are stationed on it.

As a special area, more than 200km by sea from the mainland, Tho Chau is allowed by the National Election Council to organize early elections to ensure compliance with travel conditions, national defense and security tasks, and the right to mastery of officers, soldiers, and people on the island.
