Da Nang - The police are investigating the theft of electric cables that forced a business with more than 300 workers to stop operations.

On November 10, Mr. Nguyen Minh Phuc - Deputy Head of the Thang Binh Power Management Team (Da Nang) - confirmed that an electric cable theft had just occurred in the area, causing OBS Company (Ha Lam - Cho Duoc Industrial Cluster) to temporarily suspend operations, directly affecting the jobs of more than 300 workers.

According to initial information, on November 9, the Thang Binh Power Management Team discovered that the power supply transformer station for OBS Company had been stolen by a thief with 28m of copper cable, with a cross-section of 240mm2.

This theft incident caused a power outage for the entire enterprise. The serious consequences are that all production and business activities of the company have to be temporarily suspended, causing more than 300 workers to temporarily take a day off.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Phuc said: "Thang Binh Power Management Team is trying to fix the problem as soon as possible to restore power, helping businesses stabilize production and business".

The incident has been reported and the Thang Binh Commune Police are coordinating with relevant authorities to continue investigating and clarifying the theft suspect.

A representative of the Thang Binh Power Management Team warned that the act of stealing materials and equipment on the power grid in operation is extremely dangerous, which can directly threaten the life of the perpetrator. At the same time, this behavior caused incidents, disrupted power supply, caused great damage to businesses and affected the lives of people in the area.

Theft of electrical equipment is not the first time it has occurred in the area. In December 2024 alone, in the old Thang Binh district, there were 8 cases of material theft at power projects, making it difficult to ensure stable and safe power supply.
