Mr. Ha Hoanh started going to the forest to pick mushrooms on September 18 and got lost, and his family had been out of contact for many days. On September 23, Mr. Ha Hoanh was found by the authorities in a dense forest area about 8km from the edge of the forest.
Regarding his days wandering in the wild, Mr. Ha Hoanh said that at noon on September 18, to improve his meals, he drove his motorbike away from home, to a forest area 6km from home to pick mushrooms. The luggage carried at that time only included a knife, a convenient raincoat, a helmet and a nylon bag used to store mushrooms.
"I went into the forest, thinking about picking some mushrooms and coming home in the afternoon, but got lost. At that time, the forest was overgrown with forests, so I found a way out but I still couldn't find the original trail," said Mr. Ha Hoanh.
The night went down, the old man accepted to stay in the forest, waiting for the next day to continue finding a way home. Mr. Ha Hoanh said: "at night, it's very cold. Because there was no fire, I had to go to the roots of big trees in the forest to sleep.
The next day, Mr. Ha Hoanh woke up and continued his journey to find a way out of the old forest. However, the further he went, the more he found the terrain and sites strange.
Regarding 6 days and 5 nights in the forest, Mr. Hoa Hoanh shared: "I don't bring food or water, so when I'm hungry, I look for wild fruits to cover my stomach. When there is no fruit, I find cloud tree shoots to fight hunger. When I was thirsty, I went down to streams and streams in the forest to drink. After eating and drinking, I wander around, looking for a way out.
Mr. Lo Mu Ha Khen, Mr. Ha Hoang's son, said that Mr. Ha Hoanh had previously gone to the local forests many times to pick mushrooms and honey to sell and earn a living. During his years in the forest, Mr. Ha Hoanh was lost 3 times but was found early by his family, without affecting his health.
This time, my father has been lost for 6 days, the people in the house have thought about the worst situation, said Mr. Ha Khen.
According to Mr. Ha Khen, on the first day he lost contact with Mr. Ha Hoanh, his family and neighbors followed the trail, came to the area where he left his motorbike and started searching. At that time, the people in the group followed the footprints and broken branches to find the victim, but when they arrived at the dense forest, they lost their mark.
"By noon on September 23, the search team discovered many forest cloud tree shells that my father had eaten and left behind, so they focused on searching. About 100m from the cloud shell, the officers in the group saw my father lying precariously in a large, weak tree prop. At that time, her clothes were wet and torn. If he had not found it that day, my father would not have passed away, Mr. Lo Mu Ha Khen recounted.
According to Mr. Ha Khen, the area of old man Ha Hoanh's lost forest is located in Nam Ban Lam Ha commune (Lam Dong). This is an area of old forest, overgrown with trees, many streams and dangerously high slopes. This area has been lost for many years, and few local residents dare to enter.
The old man in Ha Sang village, 78 years old, said that Mr. Ha Hoanh had gone through the forest many times and had lost his way, but this was the last time he lost contact. "The day people found him, Mr. Ha Hoanh was hungry, cold, and in poor health. If not found early, it will affect her life. Currently, he has returned home, is being cared for by his children and grandchildren, and is recovering his health."
Previously, Lao Dong reported that on the morning of September 18, Mr. Ha Hoanh went into the forest area in sub-area 221, managed by Lam Ha Protective Forest Management Board to pick forest mushrooms. However, Mr. Ha Hoanh got lost and his family lost contact.
On the morning of September 22, after receiving news from the family, nearly 100 people from the functional forces of Langbiang - Da Lat ward, Lam Ha Protective Forest Management Board, and the functional forces of Nam Ban Lam Ha commune (Lam Dong) organized a search for Mr. Ha Hoanh.
