After nearly two days of searching, the authorities found the body of the 9th grade male student N.P.T.L. (16 years old), who is believed to have slipped into the river while fishing.
At around 1:30 p.m. on September 21, the body of N.P.T.L. was discovered in the river area at the foot of Xang bridge, Hoc Mon commune. The location where the victim was found was about 100 meters from the incident site.
Mr. Nguyen Van Phong (51 years old, residing in Hoc Mon commune), who directly salvaged the victim's body, said he discovered the body floating on the river and brought it to shore with 3 others. He immediately reported it to the victim's family and local authorities.
Previously, on the morning of September 20, people discovered L.'s electric bicycle and fish box on the bank of the canal but could not find the person. Suspecting something was not right, they reported it to the authorities.
