On the afternoon of November 17, Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh - Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee - led a working group to inspect the work to overcome landslides caused by heavy rain at Khanh Le Pass.

Through on-site inspection, Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh assessed this as a particularly serious landslide, killing 6 people and injuring 19 others.

The Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Secretary acknowledged the sense of responsibility, efforts and urgency of the functional forces in rescue, approaching the scene and taking the victims out of the danger zone in very bad weather conditions.

He also expressed his deep sympathy for the losses of the families of the victims; requested that authorities at all levels urgently organize visits and support.

At the same time, the health sector is required to focus on treating the injured, especially in severe cases, to help them overcome the critical condition soon.

Regarding the recovery work, Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh requested the forces to closely coordinate and accurately assess the volume of landslides to come up with a handling plan and soon open the route.

In addition, Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Secretary Nghiem Xuan Thanh assigned relevant departments and branches to advise the province to propose the Government to soon approve and implement the Nha Trang - Da Lat Expressway Project, in order to ensure traffic safety and reduce the load on the pass.

Previously, at around 10:30 p.m. on November 16, a passenger bus running on the Da Lat - Quang Ngai route on Khanh Le Pass was suddenly hit by rocks and soil from the positive slope, pressing hard against the right side of the vehicle.

The incident caused severe damage to Phuong Trang's passenger bus, killing 6 people and injuring 19 others.
