The working delegation inspected the actual construction progress of the Apatite ore processing plant project and the Phuong village tail ore waste lake.
A business representative said that the project has a total investment of 807 billion VND, a planned area of nearly 69 hectares, and a designed capacity of 250,000 tons of concentrate ore/year.
After restarting in 2024, to date, the project has completed about 95% of the construction volume and is completing the final items for trial run in June 2026, striving to put it into operation in the third quarter of 2026.

The project is expected to create stable jobs for 120 to 150 local workers, of which about half are ethnic minorities, contributing to promoting industrial development, creating revenue for the budget and local socio-economic development.
After actual inspection and listening to the units' reports, the Secretary of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee acknowledged the efforts of the investor, construction unit, supervision consultant and departments and branches in the project implementation process.
Mr. Duong Quoc Huy emphasized that this is an important project for socio-economic development and improving the quality of life of people in the area.

Therefore, investors and contractors need to focus maximum manpower and machinery, take advantage of favorable weather to accelerate the construction progress of the remaining items; and at the same time must absolutely ensure the quality of the project, labor safety and environmental sanitation.
Along with that, requiring businesses to strictly implement regulations on environmental protection, waste lake management, ensuring safety during operation; paying attention to solving employment, improving income for local workers, contributing to economic development associated with environmental protection and social security.
