On June 23, in An Phu Tan commune, Mr. Tran Van Lau - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Vinh Long province chaired a dialogue with households with land adjacent to the river section in the NTSH. 10 and NTSH. 10a sand mine areas (sand on the Hau River, section passing through Luc Si Thanh commune and An Phu Tan commune).
The dialogue was organized to listen to the thoughts, aspirations and answers to people's concerns related to sand mining activities serving key national projects.

At the dialogue, many people expressed concern about the risk of landslides, affecting land, houses and the living environment. Representatives of relevant departments and sectors directly explained and clarified the licensing process, exploitation scope, supervision work as well as safety measures during exploitation.
Speaking in conclusion, Mr. Tran Van Lau said that sand mining at the two mines is carried out to serve key national transport projects and security and defense projects according to the Government's policy. Through reviewing dossiers and assessment by specialized agencies, the licensing was carried out in accordance with legal regulations.

Vinh Long Provincial Party Secretary requested the Provincial People's Committee, departments, branches and exploitation units to strengthen close supervision of the scope, depth, and exploitation time; maintain camera systems, positioning equipment and monitor the developments of riverbeds and riverbanks.
In case of detecting unsafe risks or landslides, it is necessary to promptly handle them, stop mining for inspection and assessment," Vinh Long Provincial Party Secretary emphasized this content, while affirming that the province will publicly and transparently disclose information, listen to people's opinions and strictly handle violations in mineral exploitation activities.
