On June 11, Mr. Tran Van Lau - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Delegation of National Assembly Deputies of the 16th term of Vinh Long province chaired a meeting to listen to a report on the implementation of projects invested by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment in the province until June 2026.
Attending the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Quynh Thien - Provincial Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of relevant departments and agencies.
According to the report of Irrigation Investment and Construction Management Board 10, Ben Tre Water Management Project (JICA3) has a total investment of 7,578 trillion VND, implemented in the period 2017 - 2030. To date, the project has completed Tan Phu culvert and Ben Ro culvert.
The Mekong Delta Integrated Climate Response and Transition Project (MERIT) has a total investment of more than 5.8 trillion VND. In the province, the project deploys the component of the Nam Mang Thit Irrigation System with Cai Hop boat basin and 4 water control culverts.
In addition, the Nam Ben Tre Regional Water Resource Control System Synchronization Project is in the investment preparation phase. Expected to be implemented in the period 2026 - 2030, the project has a total investment of 1.83 trillion VND.

At the working session, departments, branches, and the Investment and Construction Management Board of Irrigation 10 reported on the project implementation progress, and at the same time proposed to remove difficulties related to compensation, site clearance, support and arrangement of sand source for leveling to ensure the construction progress of projects.
Concluding the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Tran Van Lau emphasized that after the merger, Vinh Long has a large scale of agricultural production. Therefore, the irrigation system plays a particularly important role in ensuring water sources for production, people's livelihoods and climate change adaptation.
Provincial Party Secretary acknowledged and highly appreciated the attention of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the Investment and Construction Management Board of Irrigation 10 in investing in key projects, contributing to controlling saltwater intrusion, proactively managing water resources and reducing the impact of natural disasters.
The Provincial Party Secretary requested the Provincial People's Committee, departments, branches and related localities to coordinate in removing difficulties, accelerating site clearance, and arranging construction materials. Contents beyond authority need to be promptly reported to competent authorities to ensure project progress.
