On January 7, the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province said that it had requested the Ministry of Transport to direct Project Management Board 2 and Project Management Board 85 (investors) to immediately repair and restore local roads affected during the transportation of construction materials for the North-South Expressway project, the section passing through the province.
Timely fix and repair potholes, subsidence, flooding, damage... that do not ensure traffic safety for people and vehicles.
Regarding the Project to Enhance Traffic Connectivity in the Central Highlands region, it is recommended that the Ministry of Transport direct the investor to seriously handle traffic infrastructure shortcomings and enhance traffic safety on National Highway 19 through the province.
In addition, direct the investor to consider prioritizing the upgrading and expansion of Trang II Bridge at Km24+650, Nuoc Xanh Bridge at Km36+546 and Dong Xiem Bridge at Km39+482 on National Highway 19 through the province, to synchronize with the road surface on the route.
According to the Department of Transport of Binh Dinh province, through inspection, the provincial road system currently has 4 routes (DT629, 630, 636 and 638) that are severely damaged due to serving the construction of the North-South Expressway project, with a total length of more than 105km. At the same time, the road system in the localities also recorded 56 routes that were seriously damaged, with a total length of more than 66km.
One of the most severely damaged routes is the section Km1+00 - Km3+170 (DT629). This damage causes many difficulties for people in the area to travel.
Recently, the investor has directed the construction unit to inspect, fix and repair damaged and degraded routes during the construction of the North-South expressway project.
However, the work of repairing and overcoming this situation has not been done promptly, is still sketchy, hasty, and in many cases is still formal, not meeting quality requirements.
In addition, prolonged rainy weather has made construction routes "more seriously ill", seriously affecting people's travel and daily life. In some areas, traffic accidents tend to increase.
