On the afternoon of March 17, in Huong Hoa district, the Ministry of Public Security coordinated with Quang Tri province and the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group to organize an inauguration ceremony, hand over the completed model house, and start construction of houses for the poor in the area.
Attending the ceremony were Lieutenant General Pham The Tung - Deputy Minister of Public Security; Mr. Nguyen Long Hai - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee; and representatives of the leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Public Security, the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group and the Quang Tri Provincial Police.
Responding to the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025", since the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Public Security has mobilized support to build 1,143 houses for poor households and people with meritorious services facing housing difficulties in Quang Tri.
The houses are built according to assembled models, adjusted to suit geographical conditions, climate and customs of local ethnic minorities, ensuring a life of over 10 years.
In addition to the capital of 80 billion VND supported by the Ministry of Public Security and funding from the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minority Areas, Quang Tri Provincial Police has mobilized all officers and soldiers to contribute one day's salary and support working days to speed up the construction progress, expected to be completed before June 30, 2025 and handed over to the people.
Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Pham The Tung acknowledged and highly appreciated the strong direction of the leaders of Quang Tri province and the Provincial Police in joining hands to support housing for poor households, near-poor households and families in difficult circumstances. The Deputy Minister hopes that after having a new, spacious house, people will settle down, stabilize their lives and actively participate in the movement of the entire people to protect national security.
Quang Tri Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Long Hai expressed his appreciation for the Standing Committee of the Central Public Security Party Committee, the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security and the support of the Provincial Police force in the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the locality.
At the ceremony, the Deputy Minister of Public Security and the Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee presented symbolic keys and 12 gifts from the Minister of Public Security to 12 households in difficult circumstances in Huong Hoa district.
Previously, in 2024, the Ministry of Public Security donated 200 houses to the poor in Huong Hoa and Dakrong districts, contributing to helping households have solid housing and stabilize their lives.
