On February 24, the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Huong Hoa District (Quang Tri Province) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a house for Mr. Ho Van Ngoai (Block 6, Khe Sanh Town, Huong Hoa District, Quang Tri Province).
This is a model house that helps shape the design, materials, and construction methods to continue to unify and complete the implementation of housing for poor households.
It is known that Mr. Ho Van Ngoai's house was supported by the Ministry of Public Security for construction.
In addition to this house, in 2025, the Ministry of Public Security will support funding to build 1,139 houses with a total value of 80 billion VND.
The houses built must meet the "3 hard" standards (hard foundation, hard frame - wall, hard roof) according to the approved design model, suitable for local weather conditions and have a lifespan of over 20 years. Each house has a total construction cost of 100 million VND, of which the Ministry of Public Security supports 70 million VND and Quang Tri province supports 30 million VND.
Previously, in 2024, implementing the Central Government's policy and the direction of the Ministry of Public Security, the Quang Tri Provincial Police coordinated to build and hand over 200 houses to ethnic minorities in especially difficult circumstances, with an investment cost of VND90 million/house each.
However, Quang Tri still has more than 7,100 houses that need to be repaired, renovated or rebuilt, including many cases of ethnic minorities, people with meritorious services to the revolution, and policy families in difficult circumstances. Therefore, the Ministry of Public Security continues to accompany Quang Tri to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, helping people stabilize their lives.
