On August 1, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) of Quang Tri province directed the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine to inspect and take samples of sick cows from Mrs. Ho Thi Ta Pung's household (Ta Cu village, Huc commune) for consideration. experience. According to data as of August 20, in Quang Tri province, there were 5 communes and towns in Huong Hoa and Dakrong districts with foot-and-mouth disease outbreaks. In particular, the disease appeared in Ba Long commune of Dakrong district with 32 cattle of 12 households infected with the disease.
In Huong Hoa district, there are 4 communes and towns with foot-and-mouth disease with a total of 67 infected cattle; died, buried 3 cows. In Huc commune alone, there were 35 cattle infected with foot-and-mouth disease in 4 villages; 1 animal died, 19 were healed and 15 are being treated.
After receiving information about the epidemic, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Tri province directed the Provincial Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine to organize inspections, focus on guiding and directing localities to drastically and synchronously deploy prevention and control solutions. prevent foot-and-mouth disease according to regulations. The Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development requested the People's Committee of Huong Hoa district to temporarily stop importing, exporting, and raising new livestock susceptible to foot-and-mouth disease such as: buffaloes, cows, goats, and pigs until there is approval from specialized agencies.
Faced with the above-mentioned foot-and-mouth disease epidemic, the People's Committee of Huong Hoa district and Dakrong district People's Committee have decided to announce the epidemic of foot-and-mouth disease in buffaloes and cows in communes where the disease is detected.
