Quang Tri - A very dangerous 240kg magnetic bomb with a lethal radius of 1.5km was discovered in a stream near La Lay International Border Gate.

On October 23, the Military Command of Quang Tri province confirmed that the professional unit had just successfully handled a dangerous magnetic bomb near the Vietnam-Laos border area.

Previously, on the morning of October 22, the Quang Tri Provincial Military Command received a report about the discovery of a large bomb in the Khe Say stream area (La Lay village, A Ngo commune, Dakrong district, Quang Tri province).

Upon receiving the news, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Pham Anh Vu - Deputy Chief of Military Command of Quang Tri province directly commanded the engineering force to approach the scene.

After inspection, it was determined to be a magnetic bomb (bomb with symbol MK 36, weighs 240kg, contains 80kg of explosives, is 1.5m long, 0.27m in diameter, and has a lethal radius of 1,500m).

This bomb is extremely dangerous and cannot be moved, so the engineering force must use the on-site detonation method.

The forces blocked the roads, informed the people in the two border areas, evacuated people to safety and successfully detonated the bomb, ensuring absolute safety.
