On December 23, Mr. Vu Van Hung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Buon Ma Thuot City (Dak Lak) said: "We are promoting digital transformation, building smart cities and realizing the goal of making Buon Ma Thuot the Coffee City of the World".
From there, build and develop Buon Ma Thuot into a central urban area of the Central Highlands region (according to Conclusion 67 of the Politburo).
To realize the goal, in mid-December 2024, a delegation of Buon Ma Thuot City People's Committee visited and worked in the UK and France.
The trip aims to enhance international cooperation, promote investment, learn from experience in planning and building smart cities. The city hopes to expand its key agricultural export markets and promote the brand "Coffee City of the World".
In the UK and France, the delegation directly experienced the development of major cities such as London and Paris. In particular, lessons on urban planning, resource management, conservation and promotion of cultural values were recognized as systematic and scientific.
According to Chairman of Buon Ma Thuot City People's Committee Vu Van Hung, the city always promotes the spirit of learning and absorbing unique features from developed countries, but still maintains its own identity.
Buon Ma Thuot aims to develop services and tourism in a green, ecological, smart direction with strong Central Highlands culture.
From the experience of urban planning and management in major cities in Europe, the City People's Committee will creatively apply it, suitable to local characteristics.
After the working trip, the city will immediately deploy key tasks, including promoting digital transformation and building smart cities with advice from international experts.
To attract investment, the city focuses on upgrading transport infrastructure, prioritizing key projects. The merger and streamlining of specialized departments will be completed soon.
