Sprinting to clear the ground
Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Lam Van Bi said: The investment in building a highway from Ca Mau city to Dat Mui along with the planning and investment of construction of Hon Khoai deep -water port and the road connecting to the mainland to Hon Khoai port are oriented to develop economic development into the country of the country in the coming years. After the projects are completed, it will create a huge resilience for Ca Mau province to develop rapidly and sustainably.
In that spirit, the Provincial People's Committee is actively and urgently coordinating with ministries, branches and agencies to complete documents and procedures, ensuring the requirement to start the project on the occasion of August 19, 2025 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
The Prime Minister assigned Ca Mau province to carry out the task of land acquisition, compensation, support and resettlement to implement the highway from Ca Mau city to Mui land. Ca Mau province has fully prepared the conditions, ready for land acquisition, compensation, support and resettlement. At the same time, the province pledged to the Government, the Prime Minister, the ministries and central branches will hand over the ground on schedule of highway investment.
Earlier, at the 20th session (thematic), the People's Council of Ca Mau Provincial Session X held on 2.6, Ca Mau Provincial People's Council approved the arrangement of VND 642 billion from the provincial budget to implement the project. The remaining 372 billion dong under the responsibility of the provincial budget and the provincial People's Committee will continue to review and submit to the competent authority to allocate the capital plan to complete the project to complete the Prime Minister's direction.
People are excited and supportive
The Ca Mau - Dat Mui Expressway Project reclaims about 562 hectares of land in 17 communes of 7 districts, including: Thoi Binh, U Minh, Tran Van Thoi, Cai Nuoc, Phu Tan, Nam Can, Ngoc Hien, with a total investment of about 2,028 billion VND, using the State budget. Of which, the central budget supports 50% for the Ca Mau provincial budget, equivalent to 1,014 billion VND. The budget of Ca Mau province is balanced, allocating about 1,014 billion VND.
One of the prerequisites is to arrange and allocate capital to carry out land acquisition, compensation, support and resettlement work, which has been developed by the People's Committee of Ca Mau province.
Mr. Tran Van Hung (Ho Thi Ky commune, Thoi Binh district) said: "I and many households here are very happy, excited and supported by the whole province. My family has land affected by the project, when the local government implemented land recovery, I committed to handing over it according to regulations".
The Secretary of Hamlet 7 Party Cell, Khanh An Commune, U Minh District, said: The Hamlet Party Cell has organized propaganda and dissemination of the policy of land acquisition, compensation, support, and resettlement to implement the expressway from Ca Mau City to Dat Mui to households where the project passes through the hamlet. Through propaganda, we have received high consensus and support from households".
According to the plan approved by the Prime Minister, the highway from Ca Mau city to Mui is about 90km long, 4 lanes, running in parallel with Highway 1 and Ho Chi Minh road from Ca Mau city to Mui. This is the final connection project of the North -South Expressway from Pac Bo (Cao Bang Province) to Ca Mau Cape (Ca Mau Province) and is invested in Ca Mau province. When completed, the highway will contribute to promoting socio -economic development to ensure national defense and security of the Mekong Delta region and the whole country. From there, open a new development space, connect infrastructure between the southern districts of Ca Mau province and the administrative center.
