Ca Mau implements the Project on digital transformation to develop sustainable seafood, agriculture, forestry and marine economy in the period 2026-2030, with a vision to 2045, with the goal of building a modern digital governance platform, taking data as the center to serve management, production and support people and businesses.
The province will digitize, standardize, and connect specialized databases on land, environment, aquaculture, cultivation, animal husbandry, forestry, water resources and hydrometeorology. The data system will be interconnected with the common data warehouse of the province and the data systems of the Central Government, creating a platform for management, monitoring, forecasting, warning and decision-making support.

One of the key contents is to prioritize the application of artificial intelligence (AI), big data (Big Data), Internet of Things (IoT), GIS digital maps and automatic monitoring systems. These technologies will support monitoring water environment quality, salinity, weather, farming areas, production areas; and early warning of natural disasters, epidemics, pollution and risks affecting production.
In the field of aquaculture, Ca Mau will build a digital farming area map, upgrade the fishing vessel management system, digitize records and strengthen traceability. Smart aquaculture models applying sensors, automation and AI are expected to help improve productivity, reduce costs and better control the farming environment.
For agriculture, forestry and animal husbandry, digital platforms will support the management of planting areas, livestock areas, epidemics, forest resources and production chains. Tracing origin by planting area codes, QR codes and electronic data will contribute to product information transparency, meeting market requirements and improving the value of agricultural products.
The project also aims to build an open data ecosystem for people, cooperatives, businesses and investors to exploit and use effectively; and at the same time promote green production, circular economy, environmental protection and sustainable marine economic development.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment is assigned to take the lead in implementing the project, coordinating with departments, branches and localities to ensure synchronous data connection, information security and promote investment efficiency.
