On July 16, Mr. Le Van Nghia, Director of Quang Binh Water Supply Joint Stock Company, said that he had completed a survey of the current situation and developed a plan to overcome the prolonged shortage of domestic water in Thong Nhat village, Truong Ninh commune, Quang Tri province.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper had an article "Water tap only flows in small drops, people in Truong Ninh commune have to stay up all night to collect water", reflecting the situation that many households in Thong Nhat village do not have tap water to use for many days or water flows weakly and in small drops. Some families have to stay up all night to collect water for daily life.
After receiving information, Quang Binh Water Supply Joint Stock Company sent officials to inspect the current status of the water supply system in the area, and at the same time developed a remedial plan.
According to Quang Binh Water Supply Joint Stock Company, the water supply system in Thong Nhat village was installed more than 15 years ago. Over time of operation, the pipeline system has deteriorated, with many leaks appearing, causing large water loss.
The water pipeline from Rao Da Water Plant to about 450 households in Thong Nhat village leaked, causing a loss of over 70% of water production, causing water supply pressure to decrease, especially during peak hours. This situation causes many households to regularly lack domestic water.

To overcome this, the Company will use its unit's capital to invest in installing about 1,000m of the D100 transmission pipeline in the Thong Nhat village area to increase pressure and stabilize water supply. At the same time, the unit will renovate and replace branch pipelines to supply water to each household.
Currently, the unit is completing the survey and design dossier of the D100 pipeline. In early August 2026, the Company will hold a meeting with the people of Thong Nhat village to inform about the construction plan and mobilize consensus in the implementation process, especially site clearance work.
According to the plan, from August 15 to August 30, 2026, the unit will deploy the construction of the D100 pipeline into the Thong Nhat village area. After that, the Company will survey and replace the water supply pipeline to about 450 households in a rolling manner in each alley and hamlet.
Quang Binh Water Supply Joint Stock Company said it will focus resources and accelerate the progress of implementing items to soon ensure stable water supply and meet the living needs of people.
