On the occasion of Lunar New Year 2025, Dalat Home Garden Cooperative in Xuan Tho commune (Da Lat city, Lam Dong) surprised everyone by introducing colorful kale.
Kale is a herbaceous plant with curly leaves on the edges, usually green or purple. However, Ms. Luong Thi Yen Van, Director of Da Lat Garden Cooperative, has successfully crossbred kale with many colors.
On this occasion, the cooperative produced nearly 1,000 pots of kale in many colors such as green, purple. The garden also has special variations with pink, white, purple, green and yellow pistils, which look like new flowers.
This variety of kale can be used for Tet decoration.Consumers can also cut the leaves near the base to make salad or stir-fry.
Green kale costs about 80,000 VND/pot.Pots with more colors cost from 120,000 to 150,000 VND/pot.
According to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thien, Deputy Head of the Economic Department of Da Lat City, Ms. Luong Thi Yen Van is a pioneer in developing agricultural products with high economic value in the locality.
