According to the Department of Finance of Can Tho City, the total additional central budget aims to support the cost of arranging administrative units at the provincial and commune levels for 3 provinces and cities (Can Tho, Hau Giang, Soc Trang) of 280 billion VND.
This amount is expected to be used to support cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers after the arrangement of administrative units, as well as support the repair and renovation of headquarters. It is expected that cases that are not provided with public housing or shuttle buses will be supported with 4 million VND/person/month.
The Department of Finance has submitted to the City People's Committee a temporary assignment of the budget expenditure estimate for the temporary budget allocation (regular expenditure expenses) for 2 months (July and August 2025) to ensure the payment of salaries, allowances and essential expenses. The temporary allocation is 20 million VND/instance.

At the same time, Can Tho City is preparing 136 official housing rooms from the renovation of the Southwest Guest House, Guest House No. 2, a row of rooms behind the City Party Committee headquarters, along with a number of official housing and real estate to arrange for officials to live in.
According to the report of the Department of Home Affairs of Can Tho City, up to now, the leave regime for 1,879 cadres, civil servants and public employees in 3 localities has been resolved. Of which, Hau Giang province has 668 people, Soc Trang province has 987 people and Can Tho city (before the merger) has 224 people.
