On March 22, the Minister of Public Security signed a Decision to posthumously promote the rank of professional officer from captain to major for police officer Nguyen Xuan Hai (born 1993, from Dien Khanh commune), former police officer of Dien Lam commune.
The posthumous promotion is a deep recognition and gratitude from the Party, State and People's Public Security Forces for the contributions and sacrifices of comrade Nguyen Xuan Hai in the process of working, fighting, and maintaining security and order at the grassroots level.
Throughout his work process, in any position or task, he always showed firm political bravery, high sense of responsibility, close to the people, close to the people, wholeheartedly serving the People, contributing to ensuring security and order in the locality.
According to Khanh Hoa Provincial Police, the incident occurred during a peak period of attacking and suppressing crime, associated with a plan to fight and prevent illegal sand mining activities on the Cai River.
Previously, at 0:40 on March 21, the working group of Dien Lam Commune Police including Captain Nguyen Xuan Hai and Captain Nguyen Ngoc Hai (born in 1995) conducted a patrol and discovered a raft illegally mining sand near the bank of the Cai River, passing through Dong Tran 3 village.
When detecting the police force, the subjects quickly drove the vehicle to the middle of the river and fled.
In the process of preventing and keeping violating vehicles to serve the verification and handling work, Captain Nguyen Xuan Hai went missing on the river.
Immediately after receiving the news, the Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police directed the forces to urgently organize search and rescue, and at the same time deploy investigation measures to clarify the incident.
At 7:37 am on the same day, functional forces found the body of Captain Nguyen Xuan Hai, about 100m from the location of the incident.
Currently, the case is being further investigated and handled by functional agencies according to regulations.
