A close example, supporting people
In M'Drak district, in recent years, local authorities, village elders, village heads and hamlets have proactively implemented propaganda activities to raise awareness among the people. Thereby, helping them identify and gradually eliminate outdated customs such as superstition, Mahad, early marriage, wedding challenges...
Local authorities also create conditions for prestigious people to participate in grassroots unions and receive training in agricultural and forestry production techniques. From there, it will become a bridge to spread knowledge of business and economic development to each household.

A typical example is the elderly man in Y Buan Nie village (born in 1970), who is highly respected and loved by the people of Ea Trang commune. Not only is he a pioneer in mobilizing people to abandon bad customs, he also directly accompanies people in production and livestock farming.
When the village had an epidemic in cattle, he did not mind traveling far to get medicine, vaccines and organize vaccination for the cattle.
Thanks to programs to support high-quality crop varieties such as corn, sugarcane, and rice from the State, Mr. Y Buan Nie has instructed people on new farming techniques. Thereby, helping people increase productivity, stabilize food, and improve their lives during the rice-bearing season.

Mr. Y Buan Nie confided: I have been more attached to the village than ever, I clearly see that only when changing the way of thinking and doing things can people escape poverty and be content enough. Only then will they have the conditions to build more spacious houses".
Thanks to the dedication of people like Mr. Y Buan Nie and the close coordination between Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations, the movement to eliminate backward bad customs in M'Drak district has achieved many positive results.
Bad things such as fortune-telling, superstition, exorcism... are gradually being pushed back, giving way to a civilized and progressive lifestyle.
practical experience in M'Drak district shows that when people are united, the village elders, the prestigious people can promote their role and the government stands side by side with the village traders, the journey to eliminate bad customs and build a new life is no longer a distant thing.
That is the path to a bright future, where good traditional values are preserved, while what is old and outdated will be replaced by knowledge, civilization and lasting prosperity.

People's lives are improved, social evils gradually decrease
Overcoming difficulties and challenges, in recent years, M'Drak district has gradually improved the lives of ethnic minorities.
Thanks to the correct and humane policies and regimes of the Party and State, the lives of people have been increasingly improved, and social evils have gradually decreased.

At the same time, people's awareness of law compliance has also been increasingly improved.
Currently, M'Drak district has minimized the number of ethnic minority students dropping out of school. Households are allowed to use electricity and domestic water for hygiene. The traditional cultural values and identities of ethnic groups are preserved and developed.

Mr. Pham Ngoc Thach - Chairman of M'Drak District People's Committee said: "In the first years of implementing the national target program, the district encountered many difficulties. Because people's awareness is still limited, people still maintain the old way of life, and many bad customs have not been erased".
"Each cadre constantly sets an example, trains, and enhances a sense of responsibility to complete assigned tasks. From there, each cadre, especially Party members, will be the motivation to support people in ethnic minority and mountainous areas to constantly change their awareness, gradually eliminate bad customs, and rise up to become rich legitimately," Mr. Thach added.
