Heavy rain that has lasted for many days has made Go Ui mountain, Ba Dong commune, Quang Ngai province very heavy. Right at the foot of the mountain, 83 households in Deo Lam group, Lang Teng village are worried, afraid that the large rocks on the top could roll down to the village. Faced with this risk, the commune government has urgently mobilized and supported people to move to safe temporary shelters.

For the past two days, people have not dared to return home. At shelters - cultural houses, schools, commune police headquarters, smoke from the kitchen is still rising suspiciously. Cadres, militia, youth union members... take turns cooking, preparing each portion of hot rice, each bottle of clean water for the people.
Ms. Pham Thi Thieu (residing in Teng Village) shared: I was afraid of the landslide, so I went to the Teng Village Cultural House to stay temporarily. The staff was very attentive, with enough food and water. stay temporarily until after a few rainy days, only when it is quiet, do I dare to return".
During the cold rainy days, the warmth from the government's attention touched the people very much. Mr. Ho Van Gam (residing in Lang Teng village, Ba Dong commune) confided: "The whole village is at the foot of the mountain, so everyone is worried every rainy season. Now that the staff have taken him to the village cultural house to temporarily stay, with enough food, electricity and water, the people are very assured. Seeing the cadres working hard to care for the people, I feel sorry for them".
Meals in the rainy season not only help people feel full but also connect the village-level affection, the love of the Hre people and cadres in the Ba Dong highlands. Mr. Nguyen Van Sinh - Chairman of Ba Dong Commune People's Committee - said: "We encourage people to temporarily stay at cultural houses and schools for safety. The commune takes care of enough rice and water, not leaving anyone hungry or cold. When the weather is stable and safe, the commune will notify people to return home".

Not only worried about the immediate future, the Ba Dong commune government has proposed to the province to support funding for handling large rocks on Go Ui mountain, and at the same time requested to build a new resettlement area for 83 households living in areas at high risk of landslides.
From October 25 to now, prolonged heavy rains have caused many mountainous areas of Quang Ngai to be at risk of landslides and flash floods. Localities in the province have proactively relocated and evacuated 181 households with 498 people to safe places.
