Recently, in many areas in Thai Nguyen province, heavy rain has occurred, causing landslides on some mountainous roads.
In particular, the Quang Khe - Khang Ninh route directly connecting to Ba Be Lake tourist area is under serious threat and affecting traffic safety.

According to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters in early August 2025, many points on this route, especially the section passing through Ba Be commune, experienced landslides on the positive slope.
Soil and rocks from above are lying unfinished on the path, with large rocks blocking the middle of the path, carved by rainwater, lying halfway up the cliff, posing a potential risk of landslides, causing traffic insecurity.
Some sections currently do not have a system to prevent landslides, stone cages, or if there are, they are skewed, causing rocks and soil to overflow.

The Quang Khe - Khang Ninh route is a key traffic axis connecting the region and Ba Be Lake tourism.
The project has a total investment of 439 billion VND, a length of more than 17km, built according to the standards of a grade IV mountainous road, invested by the Project Management Board (PMU) to build traffic works in the old Bac Kan province.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Khanh (Cho Moi) said that the landslide phenomenon has appeared for a while, after each heavy rain, the amount of rock and soil sliding down increased.
"In many sections, when it rains heavily, it is easy for rocks and soil to slide onto the road. Every time I move through, I am very afraid of falling rocks and landslides. I hope there will be a solution soon to ensure safety, said Mr. Khanh.

Not only the Quang Khe - Khang Ninh route, the (old) Bac Kan City route to Ba Be Lake also experienced landslides.
This route has been implemented since the end of 2021, nearly 40km long, designed for a speed of 40-60km/h, level III, level IV mountainous areas.
Informing the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, a leader of the Thai Nguyen Province Traffic and Agricultural Construction Investment Project Management Board confirmed that there were landslides due to natural disasters at some locations on the road connecting to Ba Be Lake.
The leader of the Board said that the units are currently coordinating with the locality to conduct inspections of the current status, handle landslides, and ensure smooth traffic.
At the same time, the entire route will be reviewed to promptly find solutions to overcome and reinforce at points and areas at high risk of landslides.
