Can Tho - Can Tho deploys solutions to prevent and control African swine fever according to the direction of the Prime Minister.

On July 22, the leaders of the People's Committee of Can Tho City signed and issued an official dispatch requesting departments, branches and People's Committees of communes and wards to resolutely and synchronously implement solutions to prevent and control African swine fever.

Implementing the Prime Minister's Official Dispatch No. 109/CD-TTg dated July 16, 2025, the Chairman of the City People's Committee assigned the Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Finance, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the City Police, the City Military Command, Can Tho City Radio and Television Newspaper and related agencies, units and People's Committees of communes and wards to synchronously deploy epidemic prevention and control measures according to the direction.

Units are responsible for synthesizing and promptly reporting arising issues to the Government Office and the City People's Committee for coordination in handling in accordance with regulations.

On July 16, 2025, the Prime Minister issued Official Dispatch No. 109 on the drastic and synchronous implementation of solutions to prevent and control African swine fever.

The Prime Minister requested the Chairmen of the People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities to direct the drastic and synchronous implementation of measures to prevent and control African swine fever.

Localities need to mobilize forces and legal resources to promptly detect and completely handle outbreaks, prevent outbreaks and limit new outbreaks; resolutely destroy sick and suspected sick pigs; proactively implement support policies for livestock farmers who have suffered losses due to epidemics in accordance with the provisions of law; prevent and strictly handle cases of buying, selling, transporting sick pigs, dumping dead pigs that cause disease spread and environmental pollution. The arrangement of organizations and apparatus in localities must not affect disease prevention, control and control.

Direct specialized agencies to guide people to apply disease prevention and hygiene measures, build safe, isolated livestock areas, and promptly handle new outbreaks. Strictly handle cases of hiding and delaying reporting.

Strengthen control of pig transportation and slaughter; prevent illegal transportation across the border. Strengthen propaganda about the dangers of African swine fever and vaccination according to instructions.

Organize working groups to inspect and urge the work of preventing and controlling animal diseases; build disease-free livestock chains and areas.

Be responsible before the Prime Minister and before the law if subjective, negligent, or irresponsible in leading and directing, causing widespread epidemics and causing great damage in the management area.
