Can Tho City People's Committee has just issued a plan to organize activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
According to the plan, the city will organize visits to the Martyrs' Cemetery and offer incense in memory at the following locations: Hau Giang Martyrs' Cemetery (old), Soc Trang Martyrs' Cemetery (old), My Xuyen Martyrs' Cemetery (old Soc Trang) and Can Tho City Martyrs' Cemetery. In addition, the delegation will offer incense at Uncle Ho Temple in Luong Tam and An Thanh communes and Uncle Ho Monument in Ben Ninh Kieu, Ninh Kieu ward.
The highlight of the series of activities is the Commemorative Meeting Program held at 7:00 p.m. on September 2, 2025 at the main stage of Tay Do Park, Hung Phu Ward, Can Tho City.
Organize a live broadcast of the Celebration Art Program. The main bridge point is at Tay Do Park, Hung Phu Ward. On a grand scale, with the participation of singers and artists from Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho City; the stage, sound, and lighting are invested in modern design, applying new technology to create a lively and attractive artistic effect. The remaining connecting points include Xa No Park, Vi Tan Ward (old Hau Giang) and Urban Area 5A, Phu Loi Ward (old Soc Trang).
Right after the art program, at around 9:30 p.m. on September 2, the city will organize a fireworks display to celebrate. Specifically: high-altitude fireworks at Tay Do Park; low-altitude fireworks at Xa No Park and Urban Area 5A.
The budget for organizing the program is used from the state budget according to regulations and to mobilize socialization. Can Tho City People's Committee requires commemorative activities to be organized solemnly, effectively, safely, economically, in accordance with actual conditions, contributing to creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere among all classes of people.
