On the morning of August 7, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired an online regular Government meeting with provinces and centrally-run cities in July.
According to the program, the meeting focused on discussing the socio-economic situation in July and 7 months of 2025, the disbursement of public investment capital, 3 national target programs and a number of other important contents.
Speaking at the opening session, the Prime Minister emphasized that we have entered August, there is not much time left from now until the end of the year, while there is a lot of work, requiring acceleration and further breakthroughs.
Looking back at the past July and 7 months, the Prime Minister stated that the world situation continues to face many difficulties and challenges.
In the country, we actively, resolutely and synchronously deploy tasks and solutions to operate the new apparatus smoothly and effectively after the arrangement of administrative boundaries and local governments at 2 levels; promote economic growth from 8.3-8.5% and respond to fluctuations in the world market; respond to natural disasters, protect people's lives and property, and quickly overcome the consequences of floods and landslides.
The Prime Minister affirmed that thanks to the efforts of the entire political system, the socio-economic situation continues to have a positive trend, basically achieving the set goals.
Notably, the macro economy is stable, inflation is controlled, major balances of the economy are guaranteed; State budget deficit, public debt, government debt, budget deficit are well controlled.
Cultural and social fields are focused on; social security is guaranteed, no one is left without food or clothing; the material and spiritual life of the people is improved.

However, the Prime Minister also pointed out that the economy still has limitations, shortcomings and difficulties, and challenges that are still huge, requiring proactiveness, flexible and effective adaptation, when the world situation is complicated, the pressure of managing the domestic macro economy is under great pressure, especially in exchange rates, inflation and tariffs.
New growth drivers have not yet come into life; institutions, laws, and administrative procedures are still cumbersome and complicated; the lives of a part of the people, especially the poor, people living in border areas and islands are still difficult; natural disasters, floods, and epidemics are complicated, especially African swine fever.
The Prime Minister requested delegates to analyze and evaluate the situation; localities raised difficulties in the operation of local governments at both levels that need to be resolved by the Central Government.
At the same time, analyze lessons learned from the beginning of the year and in the past 5 years to continue promoting and proposing tasks and solutions to continue promoting socio-economic development, accelerating, breaking through, being bold and accelerated to achieve the goals set for 2025 and the entire 13th National Party Congress term.
