On the morning of August 31, many communes and wards of Can Tho City simultaneously implemented a plan to give gifts of VND 100,000/person to the People on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.
In Tran De commune, the People's Committee of the commune has established 13 distribution groups in 13 hamlets, assigning them to be in charge of each area to deploy support for the people. Chairman of the People's Committee of Tran De Commune, Ho Quang Dai, emphasized that the giving of gifts demonstrates the deep concern of the Party and State for the People, while strengthening people's trust in the leadership of the Party and the government. Mr. Dai requested departments, branches and organizations to coordinate closely to ensure the right distribution to the right subjects, promptly and safely.

In Nhon My commune, Chairman of Cao Minh Thom Commune People's Committee said that according to statistics, the locality has 10,652 households with 42,107 people, with a total support budget of more than 4.2 billion VND. This morning (8.31), the commune withdrew funds at the Treasury, expected to donate on the afternoon of August 31 and September 1.
Similarly, in Tai Van commune, the government has established 11 groups, and will conduct gift giving from August 31 to September 1, if the objective period is prolonged, no later than September 10. The distribution point is at the headquarters of the Commune People's Committee and the cultural houses of the hamlets. The Commune Police coordinated with the Commune Military Command to develop a plan to ensure security and order throughout the implementation process. The Head of the Hamlet People's Committee coordinates with relevant sectors, agencies and units to notify households about the time, location and procedures for presenting relevant documents according to regulations before receiving gifts.
In Long Phu commune, the government has agreed on a spending plan and assigned specific tasks to each department, ensuring that no one is left behind, especially those in difficult circumstances or who cannot come directly to receive gifts.

Previously, on August 30, the People's Committee of Can Tho City issued a decision on targeted supplementation to the commune and ward budgets to give gifts to the people on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2. Accordingly, Can Tho City decided to provide targeted additional funds to the commune and ward budgets with a total amount of more than VND 409 billion from the targeted additional funds of the central budget.
The gift giving must be completed by September 1, 2025. In case of objective reasons, people are allowed to receive gifts after this deadline but no later than September 15, 2025.
According to statistics, Ninh Kieu ward is the locality with the highest spending budget, more than 9.8 billion VND; followed by Phu Loi ward with nearly 9 billion VND. Meanwhile, Phong Nam commune has the lowest expenditure level, more than 640 million VND.
