These days, preparations for the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026–2031 term in many localities in Can Tho City are being urgently deployed, ensuring compliance with regulations and progress.

In Tai Van commune, the whole commune currently has about 25,248 voters, who are arranged to vote in 27 areas. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune has guided candidates to develop action programs and organize voter contact schedules to mobilize elections in 7 committees with 7 meetings.
At the same time, the locality promotes propaganda about the election and biographies of candidates through a system of loudspeakers, banners, grassroots meetings and social networks to help people grasp information and actively participate in the election.
Mr. Dang Thanh Quang - Secretary of the Party Committee of Tai Van commune (Can Tho City) - said that the election preparation work was carried out seriously and in accordance with legal regulations. The locality has completed the posting of voter lists and summary biographies of candidates at the Party Committee headquarters, Commune People's Committee, People's Committees of hamlets and polling areas.
According to Mr. Quang, all preparation steps were carried out democratically, publicly, and in accordance with procedures; the candidate structure was ensured to be reasonable according to regulations. The security and order situation in the area was maintained, creating favorable conditions for the successful organization of the election.

In My Tu commune (Can Tho City), election preparation work is also being deployed synchronously. According to statistics, the whole commune has about 26,492 voters participating in elections in polling areas. Voter lists have been reviewed and publicly posted for people to monitor and supervise.
Directly participating in the preparation work at the grassroots level, Ms. Le Ngoc Mai - Head of Election Team No. 8 of My Tu commune - said that the voting areas have been inspected and arranged scientifically, ensuring convenience for voters when exercising their voting rights.
We are also fully prepared with plans to serve voters thoughtfully, ensuring that the voting process takes place safely and in accordance with regulations," Ms. Mai said.

Similarly, in island communes such as Cu Lao Dung and An Thanh, election preparation work is also being comprehensively implemented. This is an area with unique riverine characteristics, many hamlets are located along canals and ditches, and population is dispersed. Local authorities have proactively diversified propaganda forms to inform each household about the election.
According to the Election Committee of Cu Lao Dung commune, the total number of voters in the area is 34,679 people. Voter lists have been posted at the commune People's Committee headquarters and polling areas, and handed over to election teams for implementation according to schedule.

According to the Can Tho City Election Commission, the city has established 103 commune-level election committees; 6 National Assembly Deputy Election Committees; 28 City People's Council Deputy Election Committees and 665 Commune-level People's Council Deputy Election Committees, with a total of 2,597 electoral groups.
As of February 26, 2026, the whole city has 3,117,185 voters. Localities are urgently printing and issuing voter cards to people before election day according to regulations.

Up to now, the political security and social order and safety situation in the area is basically stable. The police force coordinates with the City Military Command to implement measures to ensure security and safety for the election.
In many localities, polling stations have been decorated with national flags, banners, and propaganda slogans. Listings of voters and summary biographies of candidates are placed in easy-to-observe locations, creating favorable conditions for people to follow and participate in voting.
