The project to dredge the channel into the fishing port, port area and invest in some items at Tan Son fishing port, Thai Thuy commune, Hung Yen province (abbreviated as the project to dredge the channel into Tan Son fishing port) has a scale that meets some criteria of a type II fishing port, capable of receiving about 150 ship trips/day, with the largest type of ship docking at the port with a capacity of about 400CV. The project is expected to meet the seafood volume through the port from 15,000 tons/year or more.
The main construction items of the project include: Dredging the channel into the fishing port, port area; renovating and upgrading the vertical wharf section 1; building a new vertical wharf section 2; renovating and upgrading the leaning wharf section 2; building the top road of the embankment into the eastern port; installing buoys, warning signs and building a wharf management and operation house.

According to reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper, in August, at the Tan Son fishing port channel dredging project site, workers are urgently constructing to complete the final items such as: installing ship anchor bolts, ship buffers, and lighting poles. In which, stationary wharf 2 is installing ship buffers, dredging the area in front of stationary wharf 1 and leaning wharf 1...

Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien - Project Construction Supervision Consultant - said that to date, the project has completed about 80% of the workload. However, the construction process faces many difficulties due to dependence on tides. Water levels rise and fall every day, so workers have to base on the water level to take advantage of construction.
“Some days when the water recedes at night, the brothers still have to arrange to work to take advantage of the time. In particular, dredging is difficult because this is a fjord area, which has not been dredged for a long time, so the amount of waste and obstacles under the fjord is quite large, affecting the construction process,” Mr. Kien said.

According to the Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 2 of Hung Yen province, the project to dredge the channel into Tan Son fishing port is of great significance in developing local fisheries infrastructure, and at the same time serving the management of fishing vessels and controlling seafood output through ports according to the requirements of combating IUU fishing.
To ensure the project is completed on schedule, the investor regularly coordinates with relevant units to inspect the site, urge contractors to focus manpower and vehicles, and take advantage of favorable weather to accelerate construction progress.
