In recent days, the weather has been hot and sunny, temperatures have increased, and humidity has decreased sharply in forest areas managed by Phu My Forest Protection Department (Forest Protection Sub-Department, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Agriculture and Environment).
This causes forest cover such as dry leaves, weeds, and withered branches to dry out, and is a favorable condition for fire to break out and spread quickly on a large scale in case of incidents. Faced with the above situation, Phu My Forest Protection Department issued a forest fire warning level V - extremely dangerous level, the highest level in the forest fire warning scale.
According to the forest rangers, just a small mistake such as people burning garbage, smoking, or using fire carelessly to burn the ground cover can also cause a large fire in the area. Especially, at strong winds, the fire can spread very quickly, causing difficulties for control and potentially causing serious damage to forest resources as well as the ecological environment.
Faced with the increasing risk of forest fires, Phu My Forest Protection Department has implemented many emergency response measures such as: organizing 24/24 hour duty shifts in key areas; strengthening patrols to detect early risks of fires... Forest fire fighting plans have also been reviewed and supplemented to be ready to handle when situations occur.
In addition, the forest ranger force coordinates with the police, army and local authorities to promote propaganda and mobilize people to raise awareness of forest protection. In which, it is recommended that people absolutely do not bring fire sources into the forest, do not burn grass or burn garbage near forest areas during the current extreme heat. Forest owners and forest management units are also required to prepare sufficient fire fighting equipment and tools, and arrange on-duty forces to promptly handle incidents if they occur.
When detecting a forest fire incident, people need to quickly notify the nearest forest ranger agency or local authorities to promptly mobilize forces to handle it, minimizing damage.
