On March 21, Gia Lai Provincial Police said that in the context of the vibrant summer tourism season, especially when many major events are about to take place such as the Opening Week of the National Tourism Year - Gia Lai 2026, the demand for tourism and room booking of people and tourists is increasing sharply.
Taking advantage of this situation, fraudsters increase their activities in cyberspace to appropriate property.
Subjects often create fan pages, social network accounts, fake websites of hotels, resorts, homestays; post beautiful pictures, offer attractive prices to attract customers.
When someone contacted them, they requested to transfer a deposit of 30% to 100% of the room value. After receiving the money, the subjects cut off contact and appropriated property.

Gia Lai Provincial Police proposed and warned people: only book rooms through official websites or reputable platforms; proactively contact accommodation establishments directly to verify information; do not transfer deposits without clear verification.
