On October 7, heavy rain caused by the circulation of storm Matmo caused many streets in Hanoi to be deeply flooded, causing local traffic congestion.
According to Lao Dong reporters in the Me Tri street area, the water level in some places rose to the knees of pedestrians, making it difficult for people to move.
Amidst the floodwaters, the Mobile Police force arrived in time, assisting people in moving through flooded areas, helping vehicles with stalled engines.

Sharing with PV, Deputy Captain of Company 2, Battalion 1, Me Tri Mobile Police Department, Duong Xuan Hung said: "Currently, there is a section of flooded water at the highest level about 20 - 30cm from the roof of a car, many places are flooded up to the waist. Seeing people moving strugglingly, the brothers in the unit came out to help, because if they tried to pass by motorbike, they might not be able to go or the water could overflow, causing damage to the vehicle".
At the same time, many people crossing the road also proactively stopped and supported people to cross the deeply flooded section. In this area, Mr. Tran Van Tuan (Thanh Hoa) - a rescue truck driver - said that when he saw many people wading through the water struggling, he proactively stopped the vehicle and helped them get through the flooded area without receiving any fees.
"When it rains heavily, everyone suffers, let's do whatever we can to help the people" - Mr. Tuan shared.

Not far away, the area around My Dinh Stadium was also deeply flooded, many vehicles stalled in the middle of the road.
