On September 18, information from Van Ban Commune Police, Lao Cai province, at about 9:47 am on the same day, at Km99+650 National Highway 279, passing through Khe Phan village, Van Ban commune, a traffic accident occurred between 2 tractor trucks.
According to initial information, the tractor-trailer with license plate 15C-058.72 pulling a semi-trailer carrying a container driven by Mr. Do Van Tu in the direction of Bao Ha - Duong Quy showed signs of losing control. The container and semi-trailer tilted, fell and then collided with the tractor-trailer 24H-051.29 pulling trailer 24RM-005.89 driven by Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang in the opposite direction.
The collision deformed the front of the car, and Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang was trapped in the cabin.
Immediately after receiving the news, Van Ban Commune Police coordinated with the Fire and Rescue Team of Area 5 and traffic police forces to quickly arrive at the scene and deploy a rescue plan.
Due to the serious deformation of the cabin, access to the victim was difficult.
Officers and soldiers of Van Ban Commune Police approached from inside the cabin, trying to create space, while the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue forces used specialized equipment to cut and break car doors from the outside.
After nearly 2 hours of effort, the forces brought Mr. Giang out of the cabin and handed him over to the medical force to take him to Van Ban Medical Center for emergency treatment.
Through initial examination, the victim suffered a broken leg, stable health, not life-threatening.
The accident is being handled by functional forces to verify the cause.
