Inter-commune bridge in Dak Lak is deeply flooded, traffic is cut off

Dak Lak - Thong Nhat Bridge in Ea Kar district was heavily flooded, causing traffic disruption, forcing students to take a detour of about 10km to get to school.

On December 16, Mr. Le Viet Duong - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ea O commune, Ea Kar district, Dak Lak province confirmed that Thong Nhat bridge in the commune is flooded, causing local traffic disruption.

Previously, due to heavy rain, rising water caused Thong Nhat Bridge (in Hamlet 2A, Ea O Commune) to be deeply flooded. Local authorities had put up warning signs, put up ropes and sent forces to keep people from crossing.

"We still do not allow people to cross the bridge. Teachers, students and all people have to take a detour of nearly 10km to ensure safety," said Mr. Duong.

Thong Nhat Bridge was built in the 80s of the last century and now shows signs of deterioration. The bridge is located on the inter-commune road Ea O - Ea Pal - Cu Bong (Ea Kar district).

This is a vital traffic route serving the travel and production needs of people in 5 villages in the East and Southeast of Ea O commune and neighboring areas.

Recently, the People's Committee of Ea O commune has proposed the District People's Committee to consider and arrange funding to build a flood overpass, but it has not yet been resolved by competent authorities.
