On December 2, the People's Committee of Nam Dinh province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Day River overpass project connecting Nam Dinh and Ninh Binh provinces (Day River overpass) on the Ninh Binh - Nam Dinh - Thai Binh - Hai Phong expressway.
The Day River Overpass has a total main route length of about 2km; meets the scale of 4 lanes; design speed of 100km/h. The project has a total investment of nearly 1,500 billion VND.
At the ceremony, Mr. Dinh Van Phuong - Director of the Nam Dinh Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board - said that after nearly 15 months of construction, the Day River overpass connecting Nam Dinh and Ninh Binh provinces has completed the installation and decking of all approach spans, and the continuous span over Bai Dinh - Kim Son road on October 26, 2024. Currently, the foundation and road surface layers of the main route and branch routes are being constructed. The total project implementation volume has reached over 90%.
After the main bridge is closed, the bridgehead road, branch road and auxiliary items will be urgently completed to soon complete the remaining volume in December 2024 and accept, put into operation and use in the first quarter of 2025.
The Day River Overpass Bridge is put into operation with the aim of connecting important traffic routes of Ninh Binh and Nam Dinh provinces, gradually completing the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway, enhancing regional and inter-regional connectivity in the Red River Delta. At the same time, it will reduce the load on the existing traffic system, shorten the distance and travel time for traffic participants, creating momentum for socio-economic development.
