On July 8, Phu Vang Commune People's Committee (Hue City) said that the forces participating in the campaign excavated 333 graves and collected 208 biological samples to serve the work of appraisal and verification of martyrs' identities.
Notably, when excavating tomb number 18, row 20, belonging to the tomb lot on the right side of Phu Vang commune Martyrs' Cemetery, officers and soldiers discovered a pen engraved with the words "Nguyen Duy Nam".
According to the task force, the personal artifacts found at the martyr's grave are of special value, an important basis for comparing and verifying information, contributing to early identification and finding relatives of martyrs.
Functional forces are coordinating to verify information from this artifact with the hope of finding the family of martyr Nguyen Duy Nam soon.
The "500 days and nights" campaign is still being urgently, seriously and carefully deployed at Phu Vang Commune Martyrs' Cemetery. Each tomb exhumed not only serves DNA testing but also expresses gratitude and responsibility of today's generation in the journey to "return the names to their brothers", bringing the martyrs back to their families and homeland.
